Application Support Engineer
San Francisco

Responsibilities: 
• Provide support by investigating and resolving complicated Marin application and system issues.
• Develop expert understanding of application process flow and company's systems.
• Own and drive the resolution on the applications issues, communicate the statuses, root cause analysis, and provide post resolution reporting for high severity incidents.
• Prepare the plans, run books, and execute applications deployment and configuration change procedures into QA, staging and production environments.
• Setup, configure, maintain and monitor assigned business application(s) and related systems
• Monitor the applications and systems alerts and attend to them proactively.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with engineering and customer support teams.
• Perform any other roles and responsibilities as the requirements come up.

Minimum Requirements:
• 3+ years of applications support experience with web based applications (SaaS), MySQL, and Linux environment.
• Strong MySQL queries
• Strong BASH/shell scripting skills or other scripting languages.
• Accurate prediction of your own task completion timelines.
• Sense of innate urgency to complete projects on time and with high quality.
• Open communicator and can jump in (if appropriate) to help other team members.
• Educational background in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred.

Plus Skills:
• Experience with Nagios and Cacti monitoring tools will be a plus.
• MySQL administration and/or Performance tuning is a plus.
• Familiarity with Apache web server will be a plus.
• Previous experience in search advertising (Google/Yahoo) will be a plus.

Compensation
Full-time salaried position – compensation dependent on prior experience; Marin pays market-leading compensation for top performers. Position includes equity participation and comprehensive benefits (healthcare, vision, dental, commuting reimbursement)
