Marin's Growth Reflected In The 2012 Inc. 500
Earlier this week, Inc. magazine released its annual Inc. 500|5000, a list of the top performing private companies in America. We were quite pleased to see Marin Software on that list, coming in at No. 287 overall and No. 26 in the software category. This list measures the growth of a company over the last three years (2008 – 2011). During that time Marin grew 1,274%, an accomplishment we’re very proud of and couldn’t have achieved without our customers, users, partners and the Marin Software team.
I hope you don’t mind a bit of nostalgia, but in 2008 Marin had just started its third year of business; Google had just allowed bidding on alcohol terms for the first time; and Yahoo! and Bing hadn’t joined forces yet. At the same time Marin only had 52 employees. Three years later we’re over 300 strong and the search industry is a much bigger animal. We’ve added offices in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Germany, France, and Australia with more to come. Our platform is used in 160 countries and supports 26 different currencies. In just 3 years, we’ve become a global company.
On the product side of things we’ve certainly been busy. During the last three years, aside from monthly feature enhancements, we’ve released a mid-market version of Marin, added Facebook support, YouTube support, Baidu support, enhanced our bidding algorithm, and the list goes on and on. Not too shabby for a company barely six years old. Of course, we like to think we’re just getting started and look forward to working with the online marketing community for years to come.
